RAPE LOCALS
     It is with a sad heart that we chronicle the death of our friend and 
neighbor, Mr. J. N. RODGERS, which occurred on the 16th of November, after a 
short illness of only a few days. His death was a shock to the community. He 
was a man who had made many friends by his clever and good hearted disposition. 
He was a good neighbor and friend, always willing to help those in need, was a 
kind father, and an affectionate husband. His familiar voice could often be 
heard in this section, but Alas! NEWT RODGERS is dead. Oh! how sad. He leaves a 
wife and several children to mourn his death. His remains were laid to rest at 
Bethany the day following his death, after an appropriate funeral service 
conducted by Rev. J. A. Jackson.
