Mrs. Starr was a lifelong resident of Hampton. She is the widow of the late Wilson (sic) Starr and the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Harrison Jones. She was a member of the Berea Christian Church in Hampton. Mrs. Starr is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Janie Wilkerson, Mrs. Opal Stephens, both of Hampton, Mrs. Walter Coleman, of Sunny Side, Mrs. Troy Dunn of Griffin, Mrs. Martha Eason of Fayetteville, and Mrs. Mildred Smith of Decatur; three sons, Mr. Glenn Starr of Hampton, Mr. Harold Starr of Atlanta and Mr. William C. (Billy) Starr of Fayetteville; one sister, Mrs. Florence Gay of Atlanta; one brother, Mr. T. C. Jones, of Hampton, 22 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the Berea Christian Church in Hampton with the Rev. Ben Sims and the Rev. G. Y. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church an hour before the funeral. The body was carried to the home of Mrs. Janie Wilkerson this afternoon at 6 o’clock. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Edna Jones, born March 12, 1886, was married to William Madison Starr. Edna was the daughter of William Harrison Jones (1843-1923) and Mary Elizabeth Cooper (1847-1930). Mary Elizabeth Cooper was the daughter of Thomas Cooper (1794-1876) and Susan/Susannah Fry (1820-1880). Susan/Susannah Fry was the daughter of John Gilmore Fry (1793-1867) of Coweta County, Georgia.
