January 19-31, 1857

The 19th continued: "..but he did not-in eve I went to store-they came-he went 
to his father's-we came home".

The 20th: "we just stade here-or I did".

The 21st: "We went to Snapping Shoals-came home".

The 22nd: "In the fore noon I went down to my place and put up rails-in eve I 
went to J. H.s-came home".

The 23rd: "was looking for a letter from my f- [?-father or family-?].

The 24th: "I carried fam(?) to Bill Skinner-came to store-went to S. T.s-back 
to Skinner's -home".

The 25th: "At Mr. 1s till noon-in eve I went to T. W. B.(? ?)-came home".

The 26th: "We went hunting-came back to Bartons-he was not at home-ate dinner 
with his Ma-then to B. (Benjamin?)Harper's-home".

The 27th: "I went to my plantation-came back here with Mr. 1-where he was 
making a saddle".

The 27th: "I went to J. Strouds-then to T. J. Martins-then to S. Moors-lodged-I 
saw I. B. Harderman a young man I once(?) was well acquainted with-we was boys 
together 13 years ago-his father lived on my father's plantation-his father run 
away".

The 29th: "I went to Worthvill(e) to Widow S.(Stallworth's?) sale-saw Dr. B.
(Bryans)-made arrangement with him to read mederson with him this year-we came 
on to Delamars together-I came home 8 Ocl. & c.".

The 30th: "Rain all day-Fan(?-Frances Bryans-?) sick-to store in fore noon-dow
(n) ther(e) in eve-twist".

The 31st: "I went to see her-when I left I told Mr. 1 if he would wate I would 
go with him to S. S.-he would not-I came back and went-he was there-I went to 
see Dr. Middlebrooks-we came back together in eve-I asked him if he was going 
or wanted to go to store-he said not-I went-then to B. S.s(Skinner's?)-he came 
to store-we came home-F. E. B. (Frances Elizabeth Bryans) was here all night".
