Continued: He and Berry Posey went to school-"to this same man at Sardis-10 
days" (The school was probably at the current church site, but could have been 
at the original site nearer Worthville)-"we stayed till about 20 of December.. 
started home(to Dooly)..stade about 10 days-then I came back--to school here to 
Mr. James Hilsman..came and boarded at B. G. Hooks-my father(who had 
accompanied him)left on the 19th day of January 1853-I just continued on so-
until the 19 day of February".

Daily entries begin: 

"I here commense at the 1st day of November 1852-Monday-me and John Posey last 
Wednesday night came from Henry-(Samuel)Moore with us..sister Martha was very 
sick--("I was sent?")for the Doctor-to wit-Silivan-yestoday-he came today-I 
stade at the house--to give her the phisic the doctor left-Mr. Morore stad all 
night with us". The next day-"Paw & Abner(Knowles)went with Mr. Moore to an 
election at Posey's-today-I must study about comeing back to Henry with Mr. 
Moore-for tomorow he is going to start back-my heart bled for I hated the 
thoughts(?)of leaving them all sick-but my father said he wanted me to come 
with them-for B. L. Posey was in the notion to come with us".

The 3rd:-"we started-met at Mr. Jones-we came this side of Montezuma 3 or 4 
miles--we lay out". 

The 4th:-"stade all night at John Alen's in Crawford County--I was about half 
mad-because they had such late breakfast etc(?)".
