Posey left Henry for to go home in Dooly Co. Geo..Wednesday..rain prevented us..in the morning..afternoon before we started..(stayed at)U. McMickley’s(?)-4 miles below the Indian spring”. _________________ The 16th of December:-“we stade at the Widow George’ in Crawford Couty-1-½ miles this side of Knoxvill”. The next morning-“went on-overtook Washington Brown, James Brown, Jas. Posey and some others”. The 18th:-“we went on with..the wagons some(?)5 or 6 miles-then B. L. Posey stade with James Posey-I went on home with James Rowse & Brown”. The next day his father started to Montezuma-“I went to seeder Creek with him”. The 21st-“went to William Posey’s for..a letter from Mary Skinner for sister Martha”. His father returned two days later, and on Christmas Eve, James went-”to George D. Whitfield’s for a settlement between my father & him..to Simon Royle’s for the same purpose..to Wm. Posey’s with my father & Abner(?)”.
