The 25th: “…in the eve Mr. & Mrs Greer came to the acdy(academy)-today received a letter from Henly Brown Ala. Kingston P. O. about Uncle Joe-dated 11 Inst.” The 26th: “to Sardis by T. J. Martin’s to the church-I had a long chat with G. W. Welch-to ourselves-John White preached…Dr. Bryans* joined…(I)went to Mr. Moore’s-last night I dremp that I had a long conversation with G. W. W. & today I had it just about as I dremp…”. The 27th: “8 o’clock started to meeting he(Moore)went with me to Sim’s saw mill (?)-he stoped & I went on-C. C.(Cyrus)White preached-Text 23rd chapter 30(?) Vers. Of Matthew-I came off after Sacriment-came on to old T.(Thomas O.) Martin’s-dined-came on home”. The 30th: “..a hurting stomach from a coff which is I think the hooping coff- but I once had it”. [date unclear] J. G. P. pr(preached)at Mt B.-(T 10 Ps 3V?)-he “j”(joined)at 12 years old & was(bapt?)at 15 April 1st: “…just a short tim ago I receiveda letter from my father-all well..”. The 2nd: “myself E. D. O.(Oslin)F. M. F.(Fargason?)went fishing on honey creek to the river-came back by J. F.(Fargason?)home-fixed for to go to the Polemic L. H. T.-but give it out-went to J. Massey’s-came back to the Polemic”. The 3rd: “…went to S. O.(O’Dell’s)M. J. O. went to meeting Mt. Bethel-S. O. preached-Text 2nd Theselons(?)3 C. 5V-we came back dined S. O.-he preached at the acdy in the afternoon-Text 3C 13 & 14 V. Phillpians(?)..” ________________________ *Dr. Bryans was likely James Henderson Bryans who-at that time-probably lived near the present intersection of Key’s Ferry & Fincherville roads. In 1863 he sold landlot #217/ 8th District to Thomas J. Dearing, father-in-law of John L. Fincher(Fincherville namesake). As his apprentice in 1857, James B. Knowles lived in the doctor’s office which was likely nearer present day Worthville. Dr. Bryans moved to Indian Springs.
