KNOWLES, 1852-1858 (page 44 of 137) February 25 to March 25, 1854 The 25th continued: "continued all day-we went to the store-a great fresh(?) fell & c.-came back-still raining-I. B. B.(Bryans)came (as there was to be a negro weding here tonight-this was one of Mr. 1's brothers-(in-law, Mrs. Ammons' brother)". The 26th: "the wind blew very hard all the morning-we went to plantation & river-it was full-this wedding came off at 3 O'clock P. M.-we went to the bridge-the river was full & still rising-came back-cold and windy". March 4th: "...rain in the morning-at (??)-home all day". The 5th: "at home till in the after noon-they went to her father's-J.(John) Bryans-I went to J. E. B.s" The 11th: "went to court a(t) Bersheba-we stade untill eve-came home-they went to W. B. A.s-I came home with the intention of going to B. G. H.s-but did not go-stade by myself alnight". The 12th: "here all the day till in the eve-very warm for the season-I went to J. Skinner's & c.". The 18th: "we went to the plantation-came back-him & wife went to meeting-I stade at home-D. L. C. & wife came home with them-I was very glad to see them- in the eve we three went to the store". The 19th: "we all went to church-I came back-they did not-ate dinner then to S. O.s home with A. A. Speir-came home-Mr. 1 did not come home but Miss B.(Bryans) & Stargell came with Mrs. 1-he came next morning". The 25th: "I went to Sardis to give in my acknowledgement for absence but there had been no conference sense I was there till today-it was useless-I called for a letter".
