March 25 to April 17, 1854

The 25th continued: "it was granted-but did not get it from the ch.(church)as 
their was a good many wanted me to remain & come when I could-I at last agreed 
to it-went to Mr. Moors".

The 29th: "went to school but came home on the account of the head eye & jaw 
aching so-& did not go any more that week".

The 31st: "we went to S. Shoals-came back-it(rained?)in the eve-the wind blew-
we went to store".

April 1st: "we was going to work the road-but was prevented by the rain-in the 
eve they went to her fathers-we went to(?) store-stade till near night-then he 
went on-I came back all night-cloud(y) & windy-I have a great affection for Mr. 
& Mrs. Ammons as they are very kind to me".

The 2nd: "I went to S. O.s all day-came home-they was there".

The 7th: "Mrs. 1 went to Hintons-Mr. 1 went patroling(?)-I stade by myself".

The 8th: "worked the road & then went to the store-came home".

The 9th: "at home-Mr. 1 went(patroling?)in the eve".

The 13th: "went to Mt. B. to meeting-S. S.(Smith)& Allen preached-Text-18 C. 
17V. of John".

The 14th: "at school went home-M.(?)H. B.(Bryans)was there all night"

The 15th: "we went down to the branch to try for gold-came back-Mr. & Mrs 1 
went to 
Sharon-I remained at home-came back-we went to plantation-came back-went to the 
store".

The 16th: "we all went to church-cloudy & some rain-came home-Text 19V. of the 
26C. of Isah(Isaiah)".

The 17th: "cold some snow & sleet".
