April 18 to May 1, 1854

The 18th: "cold & clear-H. M. B(Bryans?) & A. Reeves came to Mr. 1's all night".

The 19th: "we all went to town-I went with Mr. 1-saw Mr. Miller(Henry V.)from 
Texas-man I once went to school to(for)16 months-I was glad to see him-went to 
Thomlinson's spring with him-I saw him as I left for the last time-I once loved 
him well-he was kind to me".

The 21st: "I received a letter from home in Dooly".

The 22nd: "I went to Sardis for the purpose of getting my letter-but was 
persuaded out of  getting it & c.-went to Mr. Moores all nig(ht?)".

The 23rd: "went to church-N.(Nathan)C. Williamson's funeral was preached by C. 
C. W. 14C. 12 & 13V.s of Revelations-came to T. O. Martin's-ate dinner-came 
home-very dry".

The 24th: "my birthday-21 years of age-at school-plotted a figger in Geometry 
25 sine(?) & c.".

The 26th" "I went to L. H. T.s-with me L. H. G. Turner-to get shoes half-sol
(ed?)".

The 29th: "went to Mr. Moor's for some sirup-came back by noon-then we went to 
Snapping Shoals-came back-M. C. Turner(his brother-in-law & my cousin)and 
family was there-cold & windy".

The 30th: "at home all day-W. H. B.(Bryans?)& family came-Mrs. & Miss B. & Miss 
Stargell came here from church-all left in the eve".

May 1st: "at school-all or nearly all of the young...(students ? ? ?-illegible)
