June 3-17, 1854

The 3rd: "went to mill for Mr. 1-came home-went to the(post) office-1letter 
from my father-all well-cool-eve(?) to plantation-Mr. 1 came back".

The 4th: "went to W. T. T.s by L. H. T.s-(to?)W. H. T.(Turner)all night".

The 5th: "went to W. B. A.s all day-to meeting-came back all night-he just 
stade with me all day-we went out over his plantation".

The 6th: "went to L. H. T.s all day-C. D. H.(Hooks)mad(e) Mr. 1 a pare of shoes-
I brot them to him".

The 7th: "Went to J. E. B.s to see him-he was gon to J. Sauer's-I went there 
saw him-went home-to P.(plantation?) powd(plowed?)some-came home".

The 8th: "Bunty(?)cut me a coat-Mr(s). 1 sick-we went to P.-came back(P. will 
stand for plantation)came back".

The 9th: "Went to the store with Mr. 1-came back-Miss F. E. B.(Frances 
Elizabeth Bryans-was)here-Mr. 1 went to P. after noon-I (?)went to the shop for 
Mr. 1 to get mar.(mare?) shod-I. B. B. (?)here all night"

The 10th: "Mr. 1 asked him about that [code]-th(e)y went to D. L. C.-I went to 
court all day-came home-all night by myself".

The 11th: "Went to B. G. H.s -some rain-all(?) came home in & with him in his 
buggy-I came home 1 1/2 by sun-they came home just befor night".

The 12th" "The vacation is out-this morning mus(t) start to school-nothing of 
interest".

The 15th: "dismissed school for us all to go to church the next day as there is 
going to be a ordination sirmond(?)preached".

The 16th: "Went-W. McMeahel(McMichael?)preached-this was the first ordination I 
ever saw-some rain-the clouds all work(ed?) in amongst(?) each other-I went to 
W. H. T.s all night".

The 17th: "Went to W. T. T.s then to W. B. A.s all day & night(?)"
