August 25 to September 3, 1854

The 25th: "at home-received a letter from D. L. C. which may be found in the 
list of letters"

The 26th: "we went to the 'sociation'-a good many their-[likely at Sharon 
church]-Cos. M. C. T.(Turner)was here all night".

The 27th: "we all went to meeting-also many-Tom Leek a cousin to Mrs. 1 was 
here-came home with me".

The 28th: "I went back with him to meeting".

The 29th: "a good many-warm and dry".

The 30th: "went(again?)-two good S.(sermons?)preached-(Foster & Wilks)-two miss 
Leeks, F. E. & H. M. B.[both, Bryans]came here last night-we all went-Mr. 1 
joined the church and is to be baptised tomorrow". [between lines-"Wake(?)& 
Doyle"]

The 31st: "He was baptised in Walnut creek-we all went by J. B.s(John Bryans?)-
I went from J. B.s to water(?)with L.(?)C. W.(White?)-B.(baptized?) him-we all 
came to meeting-Texts-D.(Doyle's?)was from the 18th to 29th V.s of the 16 C. of 
Luke-W.s(White's?)20 & 21 V.s  of the 1 C. of Matthew-this was 30th day)-today 
when we came from the water as yestoday preached-D.? Text 3 V. 11c. of John-W.s
(White's?)-37 V. 7 C. of John-I came home-they went to T. H. B.s(Bryans')-this 
day 7 years ago my sister Rebecca(???-[died])".

September 1st: "There is school today but I omitted going-stade at home all day 
till in eve-me & Mr. 1 went to the store-came back-went to P.-(and?)I went to 
Mo.(Morgan's?)water-m?(watermelon)patch-then came home".

The 2nd: "just before noon we went to P.-came back-in the eve G. B., S. B(both, 
Bryans)& cousin H. L.(Leeks?)came here and Mr. 1 & 1 went home with them-I 
stade here by myself-went to the store-got (? ? ? ?)-came back".

The 3rd: "Arose as well as usuall-pretty morning-I went to Mt. B.-Mr. O.(O'Dell)
preached Text-the book of Titus-the whole of it-he preached till he was exalted-
a good many persons there-I came..".
