KNOWLES, 1852-1858 (page 63 of 137) December 10-16, 1854 The 10th contuinued: "...together-af.(after)I saw her-she was looking at me & smild-after we was dismissed I went & spoke to her-for it seemed that I could not help it-she promise(d) to come to our house Tuesday-we came ate dinner at Dr. Stoke's-ate dinner spent the eve-cloudy misting of rain-came home-some rain during the night". t The 11th: "cloudy & raining some little-but very plesant for the season-wrote a letter to Dr. Green Midway Ga for my father-(for)him to write to him about Abner & requested(?) him to send him word how he was-went to P. O.". The 12th: "in the morning went to J.(James?)Royles-came back-Miss M. came-Mr. Harris [came]to look at Pa.'s land-in the eve went to E. R.s as he was very sick-came home-Miss M. just ready to leave-clear pretty day-all D.". The 13th: "Plesant cloudy-in the eve (to)where my F.(father)was get(ting) out [code]". The 14th: "Cloudy very P.-Mr. B.(Bedding?)field & Young(?) came to look a Pa.s land-but he had sorter promise(d) it to a nother man-they wanted it for Y.s sister(?)". The 15th: "P. mo.(morning?)-Mr. Miss(?) B. & Mrs. Fulton[came?]as the place was for her-but did not close the trade". The 16th: "me & Pa went to look at some more land which he owned-it clouded up & was very cold-came back about 12 Ocl.(Oclock) & just as we arrived Mr. B. came back & said if he was wiling-he might consider it a t.(trade)-I beleave I enjoy religion-I went in the eve down in the wood(s)-sat down by a P. tree-I was very loansom-I took out my P.(pocket?) book & found a copy to a letter to D. L. Coldman-and an answer to it-he wrote first-I answered his-my mind was reflected(?) to the times A. & received..".
