January 20 to February 10, 1855

The 20th continued: "..to meeting-Phillips preached-Text 5V. 2C. Peter-came 
home-went to Bersheba-T. H. B. came to get sirup-came back-I came here lodged-
[small script above line-"to W. H. B."].

The 21st: "cloudy, raining & blustry-I know not how I will spend the day-Mr. B. 
asked me did I not want to go with him to meeting-he said he would let me have 
a horse-I said I would-so we went-P.(Phillips)P. again-Text 12C.(?) 13 Vrs.(?)-
came by Mr. 1's with him- a sort of a storm".

The 23rd: "bo(u)ght a horse-came to home".

The 26th: "rec'd(?)a letter from Milledgeville w(h)ere Abner was, & the 
christian index for the first one-from Penfield-[Georgia]- Cold & W.".

The 27th: "I started to Sardis-went by Mr. 1's-I saw him-went out with him to 
honey creek-on my way to W. H. T.'s(Turner's)to see him-as he was again sick-
dined at his house- went to W. B. A.'s-he was not at home-came back to W. H. 
T.'s-came to Bersheba-W. B. A. was there-came with Mr. 1 to his house-came to 
W. H. B.'s"

The 28th: "Went to Mr. 1's all day- (?) -so spent today with him-late in eve 
went home".

The 29th: "At school-very cold-23 schollars".

The 31st: "very cold but clear-the- [coded passage]-".

February 1st: "27 Schollars".

The 2nd: "At night I went to J. Bryans-very cold-received 2 letters-1 from P.
(Pa?)-1 from W. WillingH(am?) O. C. Ga-good school-I- [Oglethorpe Co.? likely 
Messon Academy]-".

The 3rd: "I went with Mr. Bryans to S. Shoals-came back-went to Mr. Moors all 
night".

The 4th: "In eve came to home by Mr. 1's".

The 10th:"Went by Mr. 1-ate dinner-to Bersheba.."
