May 8-26, 1855

The 8th: "came with Mr. 1 to store-then to school

The 10th: "received a letter from my father & 1 from Lyons in Jackson-a lawyer".

The 11th: "went to Jackson-rec'd $480.00-came home-in the eve went with Mr. 1 & 
A. Nesbit s.(squirrel) hunt(ing?)-came home-Jackson is 12 (miles) off".

The 12th: "I went to Zion-Doyal P.-went to J. J. T.s(Turner's)-was not at home-
to W.(?)H. T.s-dined-then went with E. S. Harper to litt(l)e Sharon singing-
came back with her-then home".

The 19th: "went to meeting-Weaver preached-came home-Mr. 1 with me-W. B. A. 
came with us to store-we went home then we came back (& c.-?)".

The 20th: "went to church-went home with Miss F.(? ? ?)-then went with her to 
Mt. Bethel-came back-after which came home".

The 21st: "at school-went home-Mr. 1 sick at night".

The 22nd: "at school-went home-he was bet(t)er".

The 24th: "W. B. A. & family came to Mr. 1's all night".

The 25th: "came to school-5 schollars-dismissed-came home-after a while the 2 
Mr. 1's came home from P.-after noon I expected to go to J. Calar-h(? ?)
examination-but went with them to store-came home-stade till 1 hour by sun-Mr. 
1 promise(d)to go with me but said he would not go if I would let him off-I 
said I would-but then (he?) said if I wanted (him) to go he would go-but I 
thought that he did not wish to go-so I was deletirious about it-I was 
afterwards sorry he did not go".

The 26th: "We went fishing till noon-came home-W. H. B. came-he went to the 
store with him-I went to Island Shoals to see Stark Perry(?)-(as Mr. 1 had 
spoke like he wanted me to bourd my horse-but not in full)".
