June 5-23, 1855 

The 5th continued: "..night went P. R.(patrol? riding?)-not well today-worse 
tonig(ht)-me, J. D. (&) T. H. B.-I came home sick as did la(s)t night".

The 6th: "Mr 1 came by the school house with me-feel (??)".

The 7th: "rain in a storm or hurican(?)-today feel as well as I have for a 
month"

The 8th: "came to school-8 scholars-cool".

The 9th: "We went to P.-came back at noon-then went to Rose's & R. J. Harper's-
enjoyed myself well".

The 10th: "went to Sabbath School-went to J. Bryan's all the eve-then(Mr. & 
Mrs. 1 likewise)came home".

The 11th: "At school-13 sch.-plesant day"

The 12th: "went home Mr. 1 sick at night-very sic(?)".

The 13th: "he was some better".

The 14th: "In eve went to Thrasher's with Mr. 1-he (?)".

The 15th: "Went home[from school?]-then to S. Shoals to get a pair of shoes 
made".

The 16th: "to pa(patch?) & R.[or-"B."-Bersheba-?]-then back to meeting-Kimbrell 
preached-T.. 40 C. & 1 V. of Isaiah(?)-came home-then to J. Sanders-came back".

The 17th: "all went to meeting-came home-some little rain in eve & at night 
went down the road".

The 18th: "At school-11 (S)chol.-rain all night".

The 19th: "Some rain in eve-I heard of T. Hooten's(?)death-today he died".

The 22nd: "sick headache-hurting in the back-went home & expected to go to the 
snappen Shoals-but Mr. 1 had my horse".

The 23rd: "went to S. S.[Snapping Shoals]got my shoes-heard of E. J. Fargason's 
death-came home..".
