July 14 to August 6, 1855

The 14th continued: "..By T. W. S.(M.? D.)-Thresher-I came to the store-left 
Mr. 1 at the ay.(academy?)-waited for him at the store-but did not come-I came 
home-he soon came".

The 15th: "I went to S. S.-Br. Whight(White?)P.-Text 1(?)C. 22V. of Matthew
(Emananual was his text)".

The 21st: "at home with Mr. 1 wher(e)he was preparing to beat sider(cider)-came 
to the store-I wanted to g(o) to the river-but he would not go".

The 22nd: "I went down to the branch-took a bath-came back-W. H. S. was there-I 
made them beleave I went to the river-I then went to Sardis-heard of G.(George)
Thomps(on's?) death last W.(week or Wednesday?)-came home-at 3(?)went to S. 
School-came home".

The 23rd: "Mr. 1 came with me to the a(c)dy.-going to town".

The 28th: "at home all day where Mr. 1 was beating cider-in the eve (I?)came to 
the store with W. H. B.-B. Hilsman here today".

The 29th: "went to Mt. B. to meeting-Carol & Alen preached-some rain-came home-
but did not go to school- (Sabbath school?)".

August 1st: "my horse very sick-I was up with him nearly all night".

The 2nd: "some beter-at (?) went home-nearly well".

The 4th: "went to J. B.'s-came home-in the eve went to the river-came back-went 
to the store-came back".

The 5th: "Dr. B. here-in the eve me & Mr. 1 went to S. School-John B. with us 
as he was here, two(too)-some rain-came back".

The 6th: "at school-30[students]dismissed for to go to town tomorrow.."
