October 13-31, 1855 

The 13th continued: "Adjourned school-went to pl.(plantation)".

The 14th: "Hamp's hands p. cotton for Mr. 1-him & B. Capes-S. han(? ?)in eve-I 
went with Hamp to S. Turner's-came back to Pl.-came home".

The 15th: "Went to S. school-came home".

The 16th: "Went to Town with Mr. 1 in buggy-came home".

The 20th: "Went hunting-came back-went(went) to meeting-came home-I. H. B. & 
wife with us-in eve went all three to hunt some hogs-came home & they all went 
to J. B.'s all night-by myself".

The 21st: "went to Church from thence to W. H. T.'s-came home..".

The 22nd: "Went to J. B.'s for to write a deed-him & W. H. B.-[the?]Fargason 
place-Mr. 1 came-I came back with him in eve-we went to see W. H. T. as he was 
sick-came back home-[between lines in very small script- "as we came home-
between N. Jackson's & honey creek he told me if he was me he would not teach 
school here next year. I told him that I thought it would be best to teach.."-
lines mangled, some words omitted].

The 23rd: "Raining-we went hunting-came home as it was raining-then went (to) 
J. B.s-he worked on Shop-came home at noon".

The 25th: "Went to Pl(?)-then to S. Turner's-came home".

The 26th: "Went to S. Shoals-horse shod-came home-then to Gin house".

The 27th: "Went with Mr. 1 to G. House-we are together a great deal-sometimes 
at a distant(distance) & I am afraid he is mad with me-which renders me much 
disatifaction- I am as a fish out of water-out of employment-paying board 33 
1/3 cents per day-me & horse-here all eve".

The 28th: "I went to S. School-home with J. B.-he went with me to W. H. T.'s-I 
stad all night".

The 30th: "To store-home-to Sharon-Jas. Copeland(?)was beried-came home-started 
to T. Thrasher's-defered it-came back".

The 31st: "To T. T.'s with him in buggy-in the eve we went to Gin House-came 
home-I think too much of Mr. 1 but cannot help it".
