KNOWLES, 1852-1858 (page 85 of 137) November 18 to December 4, 1855 The 18th continued: "We parted as if to never to meet any more". The 19th: "left S. Moor's for Dooly(where Pa lives)at 1/2 after 7-at 1/2 after 11at Indian Spring-lodged at Heathorn's 7 miles below Forsithe-had fair pretty night". The 20th: "Left aft. breakfast-came on in Russelville-(I wrote this in Dooly or on my way, so it is[???] )-Bradford Slaughter came up with me-we came on (? ? ?) he was in a buggy-lodged at N. Bryants in Macon county-some rain-his Daughter Plade the Peannah for us". The 21st: "Rain-came on with him-in the eve left him 10 miles from Pa's-at 8 Ocl arrived (he [Slaughter?] just beg me to stay all night with him)-I found all well". The 23rd: "just looking round". The 24th: "Went to Warwick-came home or to Pa's which I call my home-today I saw a good many of my old acquaintances". The 25th: "All day at home-J. Odem & G. W. Whitfield came to Pa's-warm eve". The 27th: "To Warwick-back-then to Lewis' [store?]-came back". The 28th: "At home-some rain-clear in evening-to the humbleton field(? ? ?)". The 29th: "Went to Grays-came to Posey's-dined-came on home-wrote a letter to T. H. Bryans-Bersheba". The 30th: "went to Sharonder's to sow wheat-Pa, John Posey, G. D. W. (&) G.(?) Jake was plowing-I plowed some". December 2nd: "to B. Collier's to see a panter's[panthers]skin-me & Pa-from thence to G. Rain's-dined-in eve came hom.". The 3rd: "here all day till in eve-went to Post Office-1 letter to Mr. 1 & 1 to T. H. B.-came home". The 4th: "went to Vienna by self-white frost-showered(?) up some sleat & rain- came home-in the night when I got home".
