KNOWLES, 1852-1858 (page 86 of 137) December 5-22, 1855 The 6th: "went to J .Odems-came home-S. Murphy & E. Jackson came to Pa's". The 7th: "they left here". The 8th: "Me & Pa went to G. D. Whitfield's to have a settlement with him-ate diner-then we all went to Warwick-came back home". The 9th: "some rain-cleard off in eve-S. Rile's & wife came to Pa's & then B. Brown". The 10th: "I went to J. Riles Gin to see Shrowder to b(u)y his cotton-but did not succeed-came home". The 11th: "White frost & Ground frozen-Pa left to go to Americus-clear & cold day". The 12th: "I went to Gum Creek to Lewis' store-to sell my horse without success- came home". The 13th: "cloudy and Pl. in morning-went hunting". The 15th: "went to Warwick received a deed that was sent to Thomasville-came home". The 16th: "At home all day-S. M. & E. J. was here". The 17th: "To Warwick-some rain-cloudy all day-had horse shod to come back to Henry-to W. Brown's-got receipt to c(u?)re grubs on hor(se?)-M. & J.[Brown]went home with me". The 18th: "Left Pa's to come to Henry-with M. & J.-Pa came with me to Femis(?)- then he left to go home-we came on-stade at Thompson's 1 1/2 miles this [side?]- below Traveler's Rest-Clear & Pleasant". The 19th: "rain-very cold-came on-stade at Widow George's 1 1/4 above Noxville". The 20th: "White frost-then the thickest fog I ever saw-came 16 miles(to Brits) above Forsithe-towards Locust Grove-came on(?)". The 21st: "came on by Mr. Harr(i)son's home in Henry about 3 Ocl.-on to Mr. 1- cold & loudy-he never appeard as anxious to see me as usual-but tolerable much so".
