April 5-27, 1856

The 5th continued: "..horse for me-but did not-came home went to store-I went 
to S. T.s came home".

The 6th: "Went to Wm. Capes-heard from Pa-all well-but sister E. had her rist 
strenned-came home-very pretty day".

The 7th: "this week made a pair of block haims & c.-G. (??)".

The 12th: "We went fishing-came back-shaved & went to court-several there-to 
Pl. and from there to C. Zackery's as it was trimendeous windy & fire out-I 
went to Jas. Buntyns-came home".

The 13th: "At home all day-in eve commensed a letter to Widow Stallswort(h)-but 
did not send this-at night the principal conversation was on religion".

The 14th: "To school-to S. T.s-30 schollars-Br. White came to see me-came home-
warm for the season-everything is germinating very fast:.

The 17th: "bought me a horse 150 dol.s- (He is a large Sorrel horse-blaze in 
face-7 years old".

The 19th: "Here at home-wrote a deed for the land on which Sharon Church stands-
Mr. & Mrs. 1 went to church-then he came home-I went to J. B.s-ate dinner and 
wrote another deed-went to W. Greers for him to sign it-cool & turning colder-I 
came home-felt very bad with hurting in brest".

The 20th: "I went to church-came [back?]-J. R. went to Bartons-we all came home-
all eve".

The 21st: "cool some frost-I am not well".

The 22nd: "Me & Mr. 1 went to town-we talked about 1(st.) day of Jay.-some rain-
came home-I love to be with him-worked my horse-worked well". [day & date 
conflicts]

The 24th: "My Birthday-23 years old-I went to Jas. Buntyns-told him to keep his 
son at home-came home-to school".

The 26th: "Hope (helped) Mr. 1 spay some hogs-then went to Pl.-came back-he 
went to J. B. all night-then to I. H. B."

The 26th: "I went (to) Sardi(??)-went to W.(Wesley?)Welch's-B. W.-many others
(?)".
