KNOWLES, 1852-1858 (page 104 of 137) September 1-11, 1856 The 1st continued: "..Rebecca departed from my sight-in the cool of day he was mad-he came to school to get a receipt to cure the(grubs?) on horses as he had a sick mule-in eve I dismissed to go to town tomorrow". The 2nd: "They went to Holland's-I went on-he came with H.-he carred dinner for me but did not say anything about it to me-at night we was saying something about it to him-it looked like he got mad-he went off to bed-left me". The 3rd: "he never said anything to me-but told me to come to breakfast-Let him do as he will-I will be his friend at last-whether he is mine or not-all this week he had but little to say to me-whether mad or glad-a pleasant week-but no satisfaction to me". The 6th: "He went off (to) pl. without saying one word to me-I went to shop- horse shod-came back-he was at home-Blakley & Copland was there-he took his gun and went off with Cop.-B. stade with me-we went to store-they was there-Mr. 1 & I went home together-in eve I asked him to go with me to river to get some (? ? ? ?)-we went-came home(at night we came by the old lady P.)". The 7th: "We went to church to Turner's-a good many there-came home-he had but little to say to me-I came to Cop. as the Miss Blakley's was there-C. & B. Bryans came at bed time-I went home-so did they". The 8th: "I came to school-dismissed and went to church-they also went-came home-Elizabeth Turner came all night". The 9th: "came to school & c.-I beleave his bad fit is some what abated from what it was". The 10th: "This day 19 years ago my mother departed this life(which was Sunday- a pretty warm day)-today is just such a day as that was". The 11th: "In the morning we went hunting-I came back & left him-he caught a coon".
