KNOWLES, 1852-1858 (page 112 of 137) December 11-31, 1856 The 11th continued: "..in eve he killed them-I was with him". The 12th: "We went to Jas. Stroud's-came home-in eve we went to Dr. Brantley's- came home in my buggy". The 13th: "at court-C. Zackrey came in eve-came home-but all day I was not with him much". The 14th: "I went to Wm. H. Byrans in eve-came home-then he went-I want to start home in morning". The 15th: "I left Mr. 1 for to go to Pa's-lodged at Dr. Slawter's". The 16th: "came up with Mr. Henley-we traveled all day together-lodged at Dr. Crocker's". The 17th: "traveled together all day-in eve we parted-I went on to Pa's-all well-they told me Martha was going to marry tomorrow night at C. Light". The 18th: "At Pa's in eve, went to John Odem's-Pa came home with me & G. W. W. (George Whitfield)-Wm. Keer(?) got(?) John Hart-came and she was married to G. D. Whitfield-a pretty day". The 19th: "Myself & [niece] Lucy went home with them & N.[Nancy?] Whitfield rode in buggy with us-some rain in eve-we came home". The 20th: "Some rain in morning-at Pa's all day". The 21st: "Martha came to Pa's all night and till Wednesday eve-G.(George)was gon to Americus". The 22nd: "Very cold-in eve I went to S. Mill". The 26th: "went to Wm. Posey's-to Widdow Matthews from thence to G.(Griffin?) Rain's- home". The 27th: "We went-myself and father went to Warwick-in eve went to Wm Posey's- home- Yestoday & today was". The 28th: "Some rain before day at Pa's-saw a wild turkey". The 29th: "very warm-in eve hope (helped)Pa hall some wood". The 30th: "In eve some rain-in eve a northwest blow". The 31st: "soon in morning I left for Henry-came to Dr. Crocker's-45 miles-rain in eve-cloudy all day-at night the wind blew and it cleard away".
