March 15-29, 1857

The 15th continued: ".. With the determination to get him to let me off & I 
would go and take that school-but I did not-got some books-came on in night-
very much dissatisfied-all night".

The 17th: "I went to T. J. Williamson's sale-Mr. 1 Wm. H. B. & J. B. was there- 
[above line: "Jeesee Gunn went with me"] -Mr. 1 had but little to say to me-I 
saught(?)his company or I first went to him sometime before he spoke-just said 
how do you do-some few words was said-M. J. Odell was there-Mr. 1 would talk to 
him but would not have but little to say to me-when I left (I) bid him a dew by 
shaking hands with him-He acts very distent to me-what it is for I do not no 
(what it is for)- but will if I can posable-came home-very much dissatisfied".

The 22nd: "I went to meeting Sardis-C. C. White preached-I saw H. V. Miller 
there-I went to his father's to be with him-but soon after dining he left to go 
to his Uncle's & wanted me to come back to night-I thought somewhat hard of 
him".

The 23rd: "in eve I left here to go to McDonough-but when I left here I did not 
no (know) whether I would go to see him or not-but gave it out and went to T. 
H. Bryans' all night".

The 24th: "Me & T. H. B. went to Town-came back-ate dinner-I (he?) came to 
store with me-I went to my pl.-came back to store-went by Mr. 1's- (we have 
been talk(ing) ab(out) those potatoes today-me & T. H.)-I stoped a few minutes-
F. E. B. came from school there-as she is boarding there-I came to S. Sholes-
saw H. H. Harvy for Dr. B.-came to S. Perries lodged".

The 25th: "I went with (them?) [Perries?] to I. H.'s store-then I came back 
here-Rob. wife had a gal this mor.-I do not feel satisfied here".

The 29th: "I went to Sardice(?)-William McMcle(McMichael?)preached a good 
sermon-Text 11 & 15 of Jobe"-I then went to S. Moor's-me & I. R.(B.?)
Harderman..".
