KNOWLES, 1852-1858(page 122 of 137) March 29 to April 5, 1857 The 29th continued: "..in eve- (as they was not at home) we went to G. (grave) Yard where my Mother Christy Rebecca & her little boy was berried-in eve we came to D. Maddux's- his son Ruff was very sick-after supper they left-I sat up all night-no one there but (Fa.(?) Prya(?)-he (Ruff)has had the measles and took cold)". The 30th: "came home-I asked Dr. Bryans about me going to Atlanter-he said for me to go". [date uncertain- 2?]- "Here all the week-some rain-a cold wind". The 4 or 5th: "I was on a stand where to go today-but I went to Mt. Bethel-but few there-then to Wm. Parker's- (he lives at Mr. 1 Pl.-came back to Mr. 1-on my way back overtook Hamp(?)-we went on together as he was going there-E. J. Fargason was there with Mr. 1-Mrs. 1 was at her fathers-he soon came with her- some rain-he took a great interest in showing Hamp. his specimens- (as they had just returned from the Coperminds in Cobb Co.)- Mr. 1 never said ten words to me-by half-I was miserable-I left much mortified-Miles a negro came with me a piece & told me that his Miss F. E. Bry. was sorry that she could not go to meet (ing) with me-the 3 Sabbath(?) in march-and that I. B. B. wanted me to come back-I inten(d) to go some time soon-I came on to my Pl.-no one at home and it was raining-I went in after the shower(?)-I came on-stoped to see the Old Man Martin-[Thomas O. Martin]- he is very old & weak-bin on his bed some 3 years- came on tonight-I am much pestered about Mr. 1 but will-if I can go by next Saturday-on my way to McDonough-if I can I will get him to go to Town with me and we will come to some conclution(?)-[conclusion?] about the matter.."
