April 26 to May 7, 1857

The 26th: "I went to Sardis-to Dr. B.'s in eve-we went to see his bottom land-
came back- then (I) we hitched my horse to Bug. and went to S. Nolin's-he dede 
about a month ago-some of his folks still sick-we in the night came back-some 
rain-all night-I enjoyed myself well with him".

The 27th: "came to store-J. L. Haris came to cleark for Dr. B.-so I will be out-
(Dr. is going to Chat)-so in eve we went by Nolin's on his way to Charleston-
just this side of Covington
-I came back to N. Lewis all night".

The 28th: "Came to Dr. B. house-then to store & c."

May 1st: "..went to Dr. Roberson's with A. H. Morgan to see Dr. E. O. Huson as 
he had been sick-but was convalesens(?)- some rain last night and today-came 
back with A. H. M.".

The 2nd: "me & Dr. H. went to J.(?-John) Hails by R. J. H.s(Harper's)-came back-
Dr. B. came home this eve & c.-very pleasant day but cloudy-sprin(g) looks like 
it was broke and vegetation is coming forth-I want to go to R. J. H.'s to 
meeting tomorrow".

The 3rd: "commensed raining- S.(?) Odell came by goin(g) to R. J. H.'s to 
preach-so I went-it raining(?)-he preached M. H.'s funerel at R. J. H.'s-I came 
home threw the rain and about 2 Ocl. a hard a rain as I ever saw fall-fell".

The 5th: "I went to McDonough-on my way I overtook Mr. 1 & J. Chaffin-first J. 
C. road with me-then I got out and road with Mr. 1-in eve I went home with I. 
H. B.-all night-in eve we went over a part of his crop".

The 6th: "we went over more of it-then I left-came to S. T.'s-some rain-came to 
Bersheba(?)".

The 7th: "I went to Dr. B.'s to drench a horse-he died".
