May 10 to June 1, 1857

The 10th: "Me & Harris went (to) I. Sholes to meeting-by his brothers-came back 
by there-ate dinner-all eve-came to store-very warm day".

The 16th: "I started to Sharon by W.(Willis?)Heads to R. J. Harper's to see the 
old man H.-thence to T. O. Martin's to see him-as both are old afflicted men-I 
went on to meeting-came back to Mr. 1 all night".

The 17th: "Mrs. B.(Bryans) stade here last night-in the morning J. B. & the Dr. 
came-then Hamp.-the three [of us]-Dr. H. & me(?) left together-went to meeting-
Miss E. B. was there-I intended to go see her in eve-but I came to C. C. Whites-
ate din.-rain prevented me-came home".

The 19th: "H.(Henry?) Skinner came to store-told me that Fan(?)had a child last 
night-a boy".

The 20th: "I went to my Pl.-saw my little negro-went to S. T.(?)".

The 21st: "I went to or with the Dr. to his Pl.-came back".

The 24th: "I went to Sardis-came back-then I went to Dr. B.'s-him and family 
was just ready to go to Sabbath School-we went on to Wm. Gray's-came to Dr. 
B.'s-after supper I came home".

The 22nd: "I went to S. Turner's to cary Martha to Forsithe(?)to see J. W. 
Rutledge-when we got there (we?) found his wife mighty sick-I stade all night-
same John(?)".

The 23rd: "I came home 1/2 after 12-in eve I went to carry Mr. Willis to I. 
Spring-came back (? ? ? ?)".

The 29th: "I went home with Dr. B. to go hunting-in eve we went".

The 30th: "we again went-then we came to store".

The 31st: "he sent me my horse-I went to Turner church-went to W. B. A.s dined-
rain-came to Dr. Bryans all night (? ?)".
June 1st: "we came to store-here all the week-W. he went or star(ted?) to go(?) 
to(?) [illegible]-asked me to go with him(?)".
