June 7-20, 1857

The 7th: "Horse to me-I went Sharon-home with T. H. B.-ate dinner-I left there 
went to J. B.s and Took Miss E. F. B. to meeting [at] Odell Academy-carred her 
back-came to Dr. B.s-at meeting this eve I saw Mr. 1-I told him howday-he pade 
but little attention to me-all will be right".

The 8th: "here all the week-the old man Harper dide Last night-me & Dr. 
Hendrake went to his funerel at R. J. Harper's-where he lived-to Dicks(?)-back 
to Dr. Bryans where they beried him-S. Odell preach(ed) his funerel-my old 
Bersheba O".

The 14th: "Dr. B. sent my horse to me-me & Harris went to Island Sholes to 
meeting-Biggers preached-we then went to his brother's all eve-came here".

The 15th: "I went soon to Dr. B.s to carry him my horse-we came back to store 
or I did with him".

The 16th: "he came down after me to go to town tomorrow-I went home with him 
all night-we went to town-I worked my horse-N.(?)Smith's case was in court-
about getting a girl big-some rain-came home-all night-I heard today that my 
little negro was sick".

The 18th: "we went to my place-then to his father's to see his wheat-came back 
by Hamp's & Mr. 1's-ate din.-Mr. 1 had but little to say to me-came to my place 
saw little negro-came to his house to his newground-then to the store".

The 19th: "I am much botherd about my business and because Pa will not write to 
me".

The 20th: "Dr. B. sent my horse to me-I went by his house to get buggy-went to 
Sharon to meeting-Wm. McMicle[McMichael]preached a good sermon-I then went to 
W. H. Turner's with S. Turner-ate dinner-came to Bersheba at night-Mr. 1 as he 
was at the store rode with me as far(e) as his house-me and Hinton(Bryans) went 
to Hamp's".
