June 29 to July 15, 1857

The 29th: "..in morning we came to store-here till after (after)noon-then me & 
Huburt went by Dr. B.s to Mr. 1's-there I had to leave him (I like him very 
much)-so I left-came to Dr. B.'s all night".

The 30th: "me & the Dr. came to the store-so I remaind here the remainer(?) of 
the week'.

The 4th: "here all  day".

The 5th: "I went to Dr. B.'s to get my horse-(as I told the Dr. to-yestoday-to 
not send him in the morning)-I went to my place-my little negro better-I went 
on to Turners church class meeting-I went to W. H. T.s for dinner-W. B. A. also 
went there-me & him went off and had a lo(n)g chat-I then left-came to school 
hous(e)-(O. ch.?)-saw E. F. B. but had to leave-came to Mr. 1's-they was not at 
home-came back to store-got a vial of Opi(um?)for my little negro-came to Dr. 
B.s all night (? ?)".

The 6th: "he came to store with me-I went to......".

The 7th: "We went to Jackson-came back early in eve".

The 8th: "He came for me to go with him to Covington-I went-we anticapated a 
commensment but it is next Wednesday-we enjoyed ourselves well".

The 12th: "Dr. B. sent my horse to me-me and Harris went to my place-found my 
little negro ded-so we went to Mr. 1's-I left Harris there-I went to Mr. 1 Pl. 
to graveyard-came back went to my pl.-got dinner-then took little negro-went 
and beried it-came to Mr. 1-stade a short time-came home- (some rain) then went 
to Dr. B.'s all night".

The 13th: "he came with me to store-very much bothered about yestoday's affairs-
but all am for the best-in eve Harris went to his brothers-I am here by myself-
what will be my condition this night 12 months".

The 15th: "me & Bryans went to Covington- (as last W. was disapointed) to the 
commensment-came home-went to T. (Thomas?)Cooks-as he had sent for him
