KNOWLES, 1852-1858 (page 130 of 137) July 18 to August 5, 1857 The 18th: "I went to Sharon-came to Mr. 1's all night-well sats(ified?)". The 19th: "in the morning I left for to go to [coded words] to get [code] but her & I. B. was left-I came off and went to Snapping(?) Sholes to meeting- Cooper White with me-we went back to C. C. W.s(White's)-ate dinner-then we went to Odell A. to a singing-I went home with N.(or M.?)Moore-came to Dr. Bryans at night". The 22nd: "we went to Jackson -came home". The 24th: We again went to Jackson-came & went by T. Cooks-as we came back T. C. was diing(dying)-I stade-he dide about 7 Ocl. PM-rain". The 26th: "my horse came & me and Harris went to see Cook [buried?]-Odell P. funerel-came back & I went Sardis-C. C. W. p(preached?) Mrs. Willson's F. [funeral]- I went to S. Moors-then to Dr. B. all night-here at the store all the week-rain every day". August 1st: "in the eve I left for to go J.(?)B.(Bryans?)-went all night". The 2nd: "here till after dinner-this morning it looked like for rain-so E. F. would not go-my horse was caught-then put up-I. B. (&) G. S. went to Countyline- the old man went to Mr. 1's-so me & Miss F. E. & mother was all that was there- in eve I went by T. H. B.'s- rain-to L. H. T.'s all night". The 3rd: "me & L. H. T. went to Roddy Harpers-in eve came back-rain in the abundance- late in eve I came to Mr. 1's-he said he would go to town with me-so I stade all night". The 4th: "we left for town (McD.)-in eve came back-rain all night-I have not enjoyed myself with him as I wanted to". The 5th: "We went to plantation-where we often have went-came back-then I had to leave-I said if (we?) live I will see you again-he said something about E. F. going to Oxford with Waters & c.-I came to store-then to Old Man Martins- here to store-then in eve to Dr. B.'s all night-came here..."
