M. Carmichael on Key’s Ferry St. This marriage is unique in that it celebrated the 23rd anniversary of the marriage of the bride’s parents, falling on the same day of the week and the same impressive ring ceremony being performed by the same minister, Rev. R. L. Bell of Ala at the same hour. The spacious drawing room in its bridal white and green made a lovely back ground for bridal party. The improvised altar of palms and ferns, with floor baskets of beautiful white chrysanthemums and soft lighted tapers added to the charm of the scene. Mrs. A. W. Walker elegantly gowned in brown lace met the guests, while Miss Mary Ammons in rose canton crepe and Mrs. A. M. George in blue embroidered georgette, registered the guests in the bride’s book. Miss Evalyn Carmichael in rose crepe de chine, Miss Alice Carmichael in yellow crepe de chine, Miss Leonora Weems in rose georgette made a charming trio who gracefully presided over the punch bowl. Mrs. J. M. Carmichael, mother of the bride, wore a handsome gown of blue satin back canton crepe with a corsage of yellow ward roses. Mrs. H. T. Moore, mother of the groom wore an elegant gown of black canton crepe heavily beaded and her corsage was of white carnations. While the guests were assembling a program of nuptial music was rendered by Miss Annie G. Thompson while Miss Nell Mitcham of Hampton, sang “At Dawning and Because.” To the strains of Mendelssohn’s wedding march the bridal party came down the broad stairway and entered the drawing room. Mrs. O. J. Ousterhoudt, matron of honor and sister of the bride, was gowned in pale blue taffeta trimmed in silver lace and carried a pink chrysanthemums. Miss Lillian Carmichael, maid of honor, sister of the bride, wore an orchid taffeta and carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Miss Martha Baker of Griffin, bride’s maid, wore yellow taffeta and carried yellow chrysanthemums. The flower girls, little Misses Georgia Walker and Trellis Carmichael were gowned in pink crepe de chine and carried floral wands. Little Caroline Carmichael, baby sister of the bride, was ring bearer and wore white crepe de chine with bridal veil falling gracefully from her head. The bride, lovely in her gown of white georgette trimmed in seed pearls and pearl ornaments, carrying a bouquet of orchids showered with valley lilies, entered with her father who gave her in marriage. She was met at the altar by the groom and his best man, Mr. Frank Moore. Another brother of the groom Mr. Norman Moore, served as groomsmen. After the ceremony an informal reception was held. Gorgeous yellow chrysanthemums in silver baskets were placed in nooks and corners of the other spacious rooms and especially beautiful was the bride’s table with its cover of cluny lace and center decoration of silver basket of magnificent white chrysanthemums. Alternately were placed silver compotes of green, white, mints and silver candlesticks holding white lighted tapers tied with green tulle.
