CUPID’S PRANKS
Marriages Occurring All Over Our County Duly Chronicled
Hammock-Combs
     Married, on Sunday the 11th inst., at the beautiful country home of  the 
bride’s parents near Locust Grove, Mr. A. H. S. Hammock to Miss May Combs. Rev. 
G. J. W. Graham officiating. Miss May is the daughter of Mr. Wm. M. Combs, one 
of our most prominent and respected citizens, and enjoys the admiration and 
esteem of all who know her. She justly merit’s the high regard of her admirers 
not only for her many accomplishments but also by her rare personal 
attractions, as well as beauty and genial sweetness of character and manner. To 
sum it all up in a few words, she possesses all the requisites that go to make 
a perfect woman.
     Mr. Hammock is a member of the firm of Kimbell & Hammock, of Locust Grove, 
and is most highly regarded by all with whom he comes in contact, both for his 
excellent business qualifications and congenial, happy spirit.
     Quite a number of friends of the happy pair witnessed the ceremony, which 
took place at nine o’clock a. m. The party then attended services at the 
Baptist Church, after which they returned to the home of the bride, where they 
found awaiting them a most elegant dinner. The only compliment we will pay the 
superintendents of the culinary  department is that we never enjoyed a dinner 
better in our life.
     The happy couple were the recipients of many handsome presents.
     We join the many friends of the bride and groom in wishing for them a long 
and happy married life.
