WILL OF JORDAN RICHARDSON 01 DEC. 1868 HENRY COUNTY GEORGIA State of Georgia Henry County In the name of God, Amen: I Jordan R. Richardson of said State and County, being of advanced age and knowing I must shortly depart this life, deem as right and proper, both as respects my family and myself that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind Providence has blessed me, I therefore make this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all others. 1st Item. I desire and direct that my body is buried in a decent and Christianlike manner, suitable to my circumstances and condition in life. My soul, I trust shall return to rest with God who gave it as I hope for eternal salvation through the merits and atonement of the blessed Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ. 2nd item. I desire and direct that all of my just debts be paid without delay by my executors appointed, as I am unwilling that my creditors should be delay in their rights, especially as there is no necisity for delay. 3rd. I give, devise, and bequeath to my beloved wife Martha M. Richardson with whom I have lived in strictest quiet for four years one half of lot of land number in second district , Henry County, containing one hundred one and one quarter acres about forty of which are cleared, with all the rights, members and appurt----(?) to said half lot of land any in so belonging free from all charge or limitation whatsoever, to keep for her use, benefit and behalf during her natural life or widowhood, with full power to dispose of the same, at any time previous, or by will ordered at her death, as she may think proper. I also give and bequeath to my beloved wife, in the same sense and manner, used or and belonging to said plantation of every all my household and kitchen furniture belonging to and used on said plantation, and my buggy and mule, all without reserve or limitations. I also give all the cattle and hogs belonging to my estate without reserve or limitation, also my two horse waggon & harness, seventy five bushels of corn, and three racks of fodder. 4ih item. I give and bequeath and desire to my son, James M. Richardson five dollars. 5th item. I give and bequeath and devise to my daughter Elizabeth S. Pope five dollars. 6th item. I give bequeath and desire to my son William M. Richardson five dollars. 7th item. Upon the decease of my wife, or the termination of her widowhood & issue will think my estate real and personal to be given to Sylvester A. Richardson. 8th item. I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Martha Richardson the Executrix of this my last will and Testament. She to choose an agent or trustee at her descretion.
