And that Collier Foster, John Chambless, James [Illegible Text] Allen Martin and Shelman Durham, and their [Illegible Text] in office, be, and they are hereby appointed and declared [Illegible Text] be a body corporate, under the name and style of the [Illegible Text] of the Jackson Academy, in the county of Monroe. NOTE by Jane Newton: Jackson Academy was in the are of now Rumble Road here in Monroe County. MONROE Sec. 9. And that Mariner Culpeper, William C. Redding, John Shockley, and their successors in office, be, and they are hereby appointed trustees and declared to be a body corporate, under the name and style of the Jefferson Academy, in Monroe county. Sec. 10. And that Timothy Mathews, J. G. Rains, James Phillips, Thomas Redding, and Frederick D. Wimberly, and their successors in office, be, and they are hereby appointed trustees, and declared to be a body corporate, under the name and title of the County Line Academy, in Monroe county. 1832 Acts MONROE That Robert McGough, Alexander Russell, Reddick B. Perry, William Turner and Robert Winn, and their successors in office, be appointed trustees of the Pine Grove Grammer school, in the county of Monroe. 1837 Acts MONROE Sec. 7. And be it further enacted, That Josiah G. Jordan, James Harden, John Chewning, James Watson, and Alexander Russell be, and they are hereby appointed Trustees of the Russellville Academy, in the county of Monroe. MONROE Sec. 15. And be it further enacted, That John C. Baldwin, Absolum Joiner, John Davidson, Wm. Hollis, and Wm. McGinty be, and they are hereby appointed Trustees of the Farmers' Academy, in the county of Monroe. MONROE Sec. 18. And be it further enacted, That Dr. James D. Head, Littleton Johnston, Elihu N. Waldrup, Dr. John Shanon, and Nathaniel T. Myrick be, and they are hereby appointed Trustees of the Gulletsville Academy, in the county of Monroe. Note: Jane Newton - Gulletsville was the community now known as Cabaniss here in Monroe County so I am sure the Academy was in the now Cabaniss area. MONROE Sec. 59. And be it further enacted, That there shall be an election held at Gulletsville Academy, on the first Saturday in January, in the year eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, and on the first Saturday in every year thereafter, for five Trustees of said Academy, who shall act until the first Saturday in the year thereafter; and that no person shall be entitled to vote at said election, but those who may reside within the captains of militia districts in which Gulletsville Academy is situated; and are entitled to vote for members of Legislature of said county; and the said election may be held and managed by any three freeholders of said district, and the polls of said election shall be opened at eight o'clock in the morning, and closed at four o'clock in the evening of the same day; and the managers of such election shall give to such persons as may get the largest or highest number of votes, a certificate of their election as Trustees, which certificates shall be a sufficient authority for acting as trustees for said Academy for the term hereinbefore specified.
