He served in Revolutionary War and received Land grants issued by Col Elijah Clarke and Greenberry Lee in 1784. It is believed that he served under Nathaniel Green (unproved) Rev. War Service Certificate Nat No 171445. William's will and that of his wife, Sarah are filed in Houston County Will Book A "1827-1855". William's will dated 3 Apr 1828 with probate Aug 11, 1829 lists wife name as Sally (believed to be Sarah). http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/houston/wills/w2520001.txt Sarah's will dated Jun 4, 1840, probated Mar 7, 1842. He first married unknown female, and they had one child, Dicy Wiggins born 23 Dec 1779 . She married Jesse S. Ross 3 Aug 1797 died Jun 9, 1847 in Mississippi. Father's will lists Dicy Ross. William married Sarah Lawrence Feb 20, 1789 in Green County GA. She was born about 1758 and died about 1840 in Fort Valley.
