All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm *********************** This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Ralph Bailey WILLS and INFERIOR COURT MINUTES OF HOUSTON COUNTY, GEORGIA: Page 107 - 1 Nov. 1830: It appearing to the court that DAVID WOOD, ELIZABETH WOOD, LOUISE WOOD, and JOHN WOOD, minors and orphans of JOSEPH WOOD, dec., are entitled to a certain portion of the estate of said deceased and they being without guardian, it is ordered that PHILIP BAILY the grandfather of said orphans be and he is hereby appointed the guardian of the person and property of said orphans. Bond was set at $500 with HENRY W. RALEY as security. On the representation of PHILIP BAILY guardian of DAVID WOOD, ELIZABETH WOOD, LOUISE WOOD, and JOHN WOOD minors and orphans of JOSEPH WOOD, dec., and of WILLIAM CASTLEBERRY and his wife LOVESA CASTLEBERY, LOVECEY WOOD, a widow of said deceased, it appears to the court to be beneficial to said orphans to sell the personal estate for purpose of a division among heirs. The court approved and granted said guardian leave to give notice and sell the personal property and make distribution. JAMES HOLDERNESS, ROBERT BROOKS, HENRY TURNER, DAVID DUNN, and BRYAN MANGHAM were appointed appraisers to appraise the personal property of JOSEPH WOOD, dec. Page 113 - 7 Mar. 1831. PHILIP BAILEY made his return of accounts of sales and appraisements and was ordered to be recorded.
