Calhoon, J.P. 10-4-1828 Recorded: December 12, 1828 Most of the material I received from Ga. Archives I have already posted at this site as messages. My first experience there was to request Houston Tax Lists and the individual I spoke to was very snippety and exasperated at my lack of computer knowledge. I received the 1829 Tax List with no cover letter and posted the names of all the Baileys on that list. Because the info I received indicated there was a document known as a Master Card I wrote and requested this on my 3rd gf Bryan Bailey. To my surprise I received a 1 1/2 page letter from a Research Archivist attaching numerous documents from Houston County involving my family with interpretations as to how they fit into my family and suggestions for further research. This identified my 4th gf Philip.. By the way, there was no Master Card for Bryan. Several months later I wrote this Archivist individually and asked for a Master Card on Philip. Again I recevid a page and a half letter with documents which were interpreted with suggestions for further research. This lady is wonderful. She went me every record on Bryant and Philip in Houston and even checked other counties. This last batch identified Philip's daughter Lovecey, her two husbands and children by her first marriage. Again no master card. I recently learned Philip bought land in Twiggs County in 1822. Because I was not aware Twiggs adjoined Houston I had not connected this Philip to mine, but am now sure they are the same. I have again written this nice lady to check Twiggs for me and am awaiting a response. Ralph Bailey
