This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of January in the Year of our Lord 
Eighteen hundred and twenty eight Between Alexander Kenady of the State of 
Georgia and County of Jones of the one part and Stephen Bassett of the State 
and County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Alexander Kenady for and 
in consideration of the Sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars in hand paid the 
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath hereby bargained and sold unto the 
said Stephen Bassett a certain tract Lot or parcel of Land situate lying and 
being in the County of Houston Known in the plan as originally Surveyed as Lot 
number thirty three in the fifth district of Said County Containing Two 
hundred Two and on half acres be the same more or Less To have and to hold the 
said tract or Lot of Land together with all the appurtainances thereunto 
belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Stephen Bassett his heirs 
or assigns in fee simple and I the Said Alexander Kenady for myself my heirs 
executors or Administrators do warrant and forever defend the right and title 
of Said Lot or tract of Land unto the Said Stephen Bassett his heirs or 
assigns free from the Lawful Claim or Claims of all persons whatever The 
testimony whereunto I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seal the day and date 
above written  Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of
