S. COALSON? & assigned by Joseph YORKE?, Security to N. F. HOOKER of North Carolina whether you did not deliver said note to HOOKER this — HOOKERS aid into and that he —— with the note $400 which I suppose was this interest at 10 percent of this 4000 Dollars for this year. Wm. HOOKER admits all this and said he gave you a note I mean the old one made by Wm. S. COALSON? and assigned by Harry? WINTERLY, Security he says he wrote across the face of the note three times, Satisfied, he gave you the note. this was in the year 184. Wm. S. COALSON died in 1851. I am his Administrator, Wm. HOOKER has commenced his suit against the Estate for the 4000 dollars. Having from Mr. COALSON himself that all the amount he owed Mr. HOOKER was wary I mean not to pay it till forced by Law, now my friend the Inquest I make of you is this If this note is in your possession please enclose it in a letter and forward it to me immediately as we shall not need it at this Term of 4 Monday in Octr. If the note has been lost or mislaid so you Can’t control it. Please try and recollect? the Amount of the note what date made it was taken up in 1845. And as the note was given for Land and the Land made by HOOKER to COALSON was made in 1836. Now my friends if you know anything as to the ensuing in the case any suppose of either COLSON or HOOKER write me and it will be thankfully Rec’d. I —— you will attend to this matter at an early date after its reception and please give me all the information you can in Reference to this Case of Wm. S. COALSON & N. F. HOOKER as to the council of notes and all you know as to the usury if any. I am very respectfully yours, Lunsford PITTS N. B. If you can’t send me the old paid notes in 1845 please try and ———? when the note was made and when done I remain? this note that you took up from HOOKER. as it is important that we should know where the note was made this date and the date due.
