A. Hickson, about 5 miles south west of Perry. The burial was in Evergreen cemetery at Perry Sunday afternoon, attended by a very large number of relatives and friends. For several years she had been in declining health, and 11 weeks was confined to her bed. Her departure to eternity was the triumphant culmination of a long life well spent. She was born in North Carolina, and would have been 83 years old on January 3rd, 1899. Her father, James Means, moved to Georgia when she was five weeks old. For 70 years she was an exemplary member of the Methodist church. She was the mother of ten children, seven of them surviving, all of whom attended her interment: M. H. Hickson of Cordele, Mrs. C. T. Simmons of Snow, W. R. Hickson of Macon county, Messrs S. W., J. A., and F. M. Hickson, and Mrs. J. E. Cheek of Houston county. She was the sister of the late Dr. M. H. Means and Mr. William Means of Elko. Her death was only a transformation from earth to Heaven, a truly good woman having been called to her eternal reward. Additional Comments: Sarah Frances Means was born on 3 January 1816 in North Carolina, the daughter of James Means & Mary Ann (McKenzie) Means. Sarah married Seaborn Hickson on 22 December 1829 in Upson Co., GA.
