 Nicholas Shirah, 1838-1908, son of Charles Shirah (b. 1810 Richland County, 
SC) and Lourana Medlin Shirah (b. 1810 Marion County, SC) of Macon County. 
1863-1865:Pvt., 64th Georgia Infantry, Company I; born in Houston County 1838, 
lived in Macon County 1840's to 1859, Taylor County 1859 to 1870's, Fayette 
County 1880's, Carroll County 1880's to 1908.
     Mary Ann Elizabeth Bachelor Shirah, 1843-1895, daughter of Cornelius 
Bachelor/Batcheldor (1820-1884) and his first wife Missouri Dabbage (1822-
1847) of Wilkinson County. 
     


Additional Comments:
      Both Nicholas and Mary were buried at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in 
Villa Rica, Carroll County. His tombstone was incorrectly marked with 
incorrect name as Cornelius Shirah with incorrect date of birth, long after 
burial. New headstone placed with correct info has since been placed. 
Corrected info from granddaughters Elizabeth Shirah Walker of Villa Rica and 
Estell Shirah Walton of Temple (both now deceased).
