This house was built by James Jackson Murray and is still standing and occupied. It is approximately 1 from the Murray Cemetery. James Jackson donated the land for a family cemetery at the time he built the house, date unknown. The cemetery is located 1 mile south of Powersville, GA just off the highway in a field on the farm of Martha Green. A Murray Reunion is held at the cemetery each March. At the time of the donation of the land, it was located in Houston County, GA. It is now located in Peach County, GA., Peach County was cut out of Houston Co. in 1924-26. In order of position, you will have Powersville, the cemetery, and then the house.
