Carithers – Nance Fort Valley social circles were stirred with pleasant interest and surprise in the marriage Monday evening of Miss Haviland Carithers and Dr. William L. Nance, dental surgeon of the United States Army, stationed at Chattanooga. Miss Carithers was prepared to re-enter the G.N. and I. College at Milledgeville and the engagement was known only to a few intimate friends. The marriage took place at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Arch G. Carithers on College Street at eight-thirty o’clock, the Rev. A.G. Irons pronouncing the wedding vows. The bride wore a lovely traveling suit of gray with boots and other accessories to match and was very attractive with a corsage bouquet of bride’s roses. Dr. Nance is an officer of the United States Army, being stationed at present in the camp near Chattanooga. He and his bride left at once for that city, making part of the trip by motor. Fort Valley’s young society set will greatly miss Mrs. Nance who, as Miss Carithers, was a favorite. Dr. Nance was a dentist of this place several years, and quite popular in business and social circles.
