On last Wednesday evening at 4 o'clock, the M. E. church at our village was crowded with spectators to witness the marriage of our friends Mr. Z. B. Means and Miss Pauline Pool. The church was beautifully decorated with evergreens interspersed with Cape Jessemine and large, beautiful magnolis [magnolias?]. The arch under which the bride and groom stood was beautiful indeed, a large M connected with a similar P by a horse shoe, all finished with magnificent flowers. The bride and groom were looking their best. The attendants were Mr. Joe H. Wimberly and Miss Laurie Brown; Dr. J. D. Coleman and Miss Lizzie Kendrick; Mr. Will Harrison and Miss Kate Coleman; Mr. J. R. Fudge and Miss Beaulah Pool; Mr. Joe Buff and Miss Lula Taylor; Mr. Charlie Eubanks and Miss Sallie Clark. They filed into the church keeping time to a most beautiful wedding march rendered by Miss Jean Kendrick. The ushers for the occasion were Messrs. J. W. till, Army Brown, John Keen and W. C. Jones, who saw that every one were well seated. The ceremony was performed by Rev. John B. McGhee, an uncle of the bride. It was short but very impressive. The bridal presents were numerous, costly and beautiful, and were displayed at the residence of the brides mother. After the marriage the wedding party left for the residence of Dr. [M. H.] Means, the father of the groom, where a bountiful repast awaited them; and where they engaged themselves till the "wee sma' hours." As Rip Van Winkle could say, "May they live long and prosper.["] File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/houston/vitals/marriages/pool2432mr.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.3 Kb
