Will of Jane Killen 15 Jun 1831 Houston County, GA


In the name of God Amen, I Jane Killen of the State of North Carolina 
and County of Johnston being of Sound and perfect mind & memory and 
blessed bi (sic) God, do this fifteenth day of June in the year of our 
Lord 1831, make & publish this my last will & testament in this manner 
following that is to say

first I give & bequeath to my daughter Harriet C. Peacock all the money 
coming to me from brother William Miller estate except six dollars, also 
my bed & bedcloths, consisting of three pair of blankets, three pair of 
sheets, three pair of pillow slips, three bed quilts, and one coverlet 
also my chest & trunk with what they contain and my wearing apparel  

2nd I give to my son Robert Killen one dollar  

3rd I give to my son Samuel Miller Killen one dollar  

4th I give to my son John Killen one dollar  

5th I give to my son William Killen one dollar  

6th I give to my son James Killen one dollar  

7th I give to my son McNeil Killen one dollar  And I hereby make & 
ordain my son Lewis Peacock Executor of this my last will & testament, 
in witness whereof I the said Jane Killen have to this my last will & 
testament set my hand & seal the day & year above written

Signed sealed published and declared by Jane Killen the testator as her 
last will & testament in the presence of us who were present at the 
signing & sealing thereof

Georgia, Houston County         Before Simon Bateman & Ephraim Krudrick 
of the Inferior Court for said County personally came John Peacock who 
being duly sworn on oath says that he saw Jane Killen, sign, seal & 
publish the within writing as her last will & testament  that she then 
was of sound mind & memory  that she did it without compulsion, and that 
this deponent also saw Asa B. Peacock sign the same as a witness.
