Aug 16 1768 Bertie Co. NC d. Mar 02 1852 Irwinville, GA. He married Joanna Gaskins 22 Mar. 1792 in Bertie Co. and a few years later they moved to Lincoln Co. GA. He moved his large family across the state and finally settled near Cusseta. In 1850 he moved with one of his sons, Hardy Gaskins McGlaun to near Irwinville. There may have been a legal dispute going on for this appeared in the Albany Herald: July 4, 1851 - NOTICE: All persons are hereby warned not to trade for an account which is held by Ephraim H. Plott (an Albany Attorney) against the subscriber for a retaining fee as I have an off set against said account. Signed Hardy H. McGlaun, Irwin Co. GA He was apparently sick 6 months later when he wrote his will there in Irwin (pg 125) In the name of God amen I Hardy McGlown of said state and county being of advanced age and know that I must shortly depart this life deem it right and proper both as respect my family and myself that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blessed me to do that upon make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other one here to fore.
