Nash, 74, of Ocilla, who died Saturday morning, June 2, 1984, in Dorminy Memorial Hospital, were conducted Sunday afternoon, June 3, in the Fitzgerald chapel of Paulk Funeral Home. The Rev. J.D. Murry and Father Cyrill Gabbert were the officiating ministers at the 2 o’clock chapel service and Mrs. Miriam Sandiford, organist, provided music. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald. Pallbearers were Dennis Fish, Leo Connelly, James P. Rowe, Edsel Young, Herman Nugent, and Kenneth Nugent. The former Martha Frances Johnson, she was born April 7, 1910, in Wilkes County to the late Francis Marion and Mattie Gunter Johnson. The widow of Osie E. Nash, she had lived in the community most of her life and was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Willis O. Nash of Ocilla; two daughters, Mrs. Farris Hargett of Fitzgerald, and Mrs. Jean Nugent of Alapaha; two brothers, Bob Johnson of Warner Robins, and Gabe Johnson of Douglas; two sisters, Mrs. Janie Lou Mandon of Macon and Mrs. Betty Rushing of Lamar, S.C.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Paulk Funeral Home of Ocilla and Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements.
