 Rev. Roy Young

  The funeral service for Rev. Roy T. Young of Fitzgerald, who  died 
Monday, September 16, 1996 at the V.A. Medical Center in Augusta, was 
held Thursday,
 September 19 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ben Hill county. He was 75.
  Rev. David Fisher and Rev. Danny Lovett officiated at the 4:00 p.m. 
service with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
  Pallbearers were Stephen Peters, Allen Bryant,Chris
 Spires, Mark Howell, Randall Waller, and James Sewell.
 Honorary pallbearers were Andy Westberry, Rev. Ronny
 Griner, Donnie Capps, Seaborn Royal and Orvis Jarchow.
 The deceased was born June 2,1921 in Ben Hill county to Jake and Dovie 
Owens Young. A Missionary Baptist minister,farmer and member of 
Mt.Olive, he was a WWIl, U.S.Navy veteran and had lived in the community 
most of his life. He was a former employee of Monroe Fletcher Buick, 
Fitzgerald, and East End Sausage Co.
 He is survived by wife,Willene T. Young of Fitzgerald;
one son: Roy Kenny Young of Fitzgerald; five daughters:
Brenda Bryant of Ocilla, Nadine Howell, Vickie Spires and Jena Golden, 
all of Fitzgerald and Cindy McCumber of Reidsville;one sister: Rose Lee 
Paul of Fitzgerald; 19 grandchildren and 9great grandchildren.
 Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
