Clifford Dixon, Sr.

The funeral service for Mr. Clifford Dixon, Sr., who died January 8, 
1997 at Irwin County Hospital, was held Tuesday,January 14, 1997 ,at New 
Bethel Baptist Church. He was 62.
 Rev. I.B. Harmon officiated the 2:00 p.m. service with interment in 
Ocilla Cemetery. Music was provided by the choir and soloist Melvin 
McKutchren.
 Pallbearers were Gerald Riley, Curtis Pickett, Anthony
Thomas, Calvin White, Ronald Dixon and Jerry Dixon.
  Mr. Dixon was born July 8, 1934 to Asa Dixon and Fleta
 Brazil Dixon in Palmetto, FL. His family moved to Irwin
 County in 1935 and he grew up and received his education here. He 
attended Sunday School at
 Pleasant Grove First Baptist Church and was a member of
 the Sunny Dale Outreach program.
  Survivors include two children: Jannis White and Clif-
 ford Dixon, Jr., both of Ocilla; three brothers: Eddie Dixon of 
Melbourne, Fl., Freddie Dixon of Miami, Fl, and Thomas Dixon of Ocilla; 
four sisters: Ruth Edmonson of Miami, Fl., Evelyn Mack and Geraldine 
Mitchell of
  Jacksonville, Fl, and Mary Smith of Geneva, NY; a niece: Patrice 
Williams of Ocilla; six grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews·
   Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
