She was 74. Mrs. Davis was born December_9, 1923, in Irwin County, the daughter of Arthur and Sophionie Griffin. She was a homemaker and mother. Mrs. Davis had lived in Irwin County all of her life. She was a member of Irwinville Methodist Church and she was also a member of the Pinetta Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include her husband W. A. Cotton Davis of Ocilla; one daughter, Linda Kaye Davis Wingate of Macon; two sons, Wheelus A. Davis, II and Art Davis, both of Ocilla; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Wycliffe Griffin,of Ocilla and W. L. "Butch" Griffin of Albany; one sister, Wydene Tomberlin of Ocilla. Services were held at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel of Ocilla on Friday, September 11.at 11 a.m., with Rev. Kirk Loyless officiating. Music was provided by Jennifer Rawlison on the keyboard. Pallbearers were Dan Henderson, David Adkinson, Steve Hand, Allen Gay, Gene Arnold, and Gerald Ross. H.onorary pallbearers were Kermit Elliott, Kenneth Ross,Reggie Gibbs, Herman Mixon and Waymon Mobley. Interment was held at Irwinville Cemetery. Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
