Ruth Smith

Mrs. Ruth Smith of Ocilla  died Thursday, September 17,  1998. She was 72.
Mrs. Smith was born December 28, 1925, in Irwinville, the daughter of 
Jim and Mary Rodgers. She was a resident of Ocilla for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Smith one daughter, 
Dorothy Ransey: one brother, John Rodgers and two , sisters, E,ster 
Barnes and Ossie Anderson.    "
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Watson of  Fitzgerald, Mary  
Turner of Savannah and Cecilia Barnes of "
Ocilla; one son, Billy Smith of Ocilla; one sister, Betty Williams of 
Fitzgerald; 23 grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren.
Services were held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Ocilla on Tuesday, 
September 22 at 3 p.m., with Rev. Herbert Coney officiating.
Music was provided by the combined choir and Faye  Fletcher, soloist.
Active pallbearers were grandsons and friends of the family.
Interment was held at the Ocilla City cemetery.
Abel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
